Nothing like a letter from home...
My friend Kevin Rumsey (the chaplain's assistant in the Navy Reserves) is finishing up his training in California and will be shipping out to Iraq towards the end of the month after a brief leave to return home. His mailing address will be changing. The new address is:
RP2 Kevin A Rumsey
1/23 H&S Comp Chaplian Office
UNIT 41900
FPO AP 96426-1900
Please take the time to drop him a line from time to time. Mail from home is a big morale booster. Also, if you know someone who is serving overseas take the time to write to them. Even if you aren't in a hostile environment where people are trying to shoot you or blow you up, the culture shock of leaving America is very real and makes a significant impact on your ability to handle the situations that you find yourself in. A letter can really help brighten someone's day and make them not feel so alone. There's nothing like a good old fashioned piece of snail mail!
